Anyone over 15 can enter. All we ask is that you raise £100 through sponsorship.

A swimmer in the 2010 Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake) open water swimStarting from the Snowdonia National park carpark at the north end of the lake. You will swim half a mile into the middle of the lake, around a buoy and back to the start.

For any reasonable swimmer, the distance is not the problem. This is Wales’ deepest lake and the water is cold. You will need to wear a full length wetsuit.

Entry details and registration are available at the Diabetes UK Website

Juming in at the start of the swimPerhaps you are a regular pool swimmer who is ready for a challenge? Maybe you have always wanted to try open water swimming, or are you training for a triathlon or other event? Whatever the reason, this is a great opportunity to take part in an organised swim in a stunning location; and, to raise money for a very worthwhile charity.

The swim is not a race, just a challenge.  But for those who are interested, we will try to record the time it takes you to swim the mile.
